Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs

Honey Garlic Chicken quickly became a favorite in my household. A sweet yet savory glaze over juicy chicken thighs with a perfect, crunchy, seared skin, that’s baked to perfection is an easy, fun way to enjoy chicken. Serve with my favorite jasmine rice and asparagus for a balanced dinner sure to leave you satisfied and happy.  

Ingredients: 

  • 6 chicken thighs skin on
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil 
  • ¼ cup water 
  • 6 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tablespoon coconut aminos (soy sauce) 
  • 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar 
  • ⅓ cup honey 
  • Salt and pepper 
  • chopped parsley 

Directions: 

  1. Heat a large pan over medium high heat, add oil and let the pan become hot. 
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside. 
  3. Add a generous amount of salt and pepper to the chicken on both sides and underneath the skin. 
  4. Add the chicken skin side down and sear until crispy and golden. Then flip and sear for 5 more minutes. 
  5. Put the seared chicken on the baking sheet lined with parchment and bake until done. A thermometer inserted at the thickest part of the chicken should reach 165°F. 
  6. In the same pan from the chicken, discard any leftover oil from the pan. Add the water and deglaze the pan, by scraping any chicken bits up. 
  7. Add the garlic and simmer until slightly thick. Add the coconut aminos, apple cider vinegar and honey stirring to combine. Simmer for a few minutes until a slightly thick consistency is reached.  Add some chopped parsley to the sauce. 
  8. When the chicken is done, pour spoonfuls of the sauce and some extra chopped parsley over the chicken and serve hot. Enjoy!
